Anything 4 A Ride MTB Club / Race Team
Paul Plowman

I don’t know why I always wanted a Pace, but after test riding a couple of Full sussers I knew I had to stay on a hard tail, and that it had to be a Pace. When I first purchased the frame I furnished it with everything from my Muddyfox Molotov. This made it weigh the equivalent of a small lorry, okay maybe a large lorry. So over the last couple of years I have up graded and replaced bits until I now have something which resembles a decent trail / enduro bike!

I love my Pace but it is a very stiff bike so can be quite unforgiving, but dip in into a twisty single-track corner and it loves it due to its very responsive steering. I have just brought the Hope/Stans wheels set (with black spokes and red nipples, cus I’m cool) and this has dramatically improved not only the weight, but also the handling and acceleration of the bike!

Paul’s Rating                8/10
  • There is always more shiny bits to buy
  • Is probably still a little heavy
  • Can take anything I can throw at it!
