Anything 4 A Ride MTB Club / Race Team
Paul Plowman

The Pace was starting to show its age, and after the punishment of trans Wales I decided a full susser was the way forward. After trawling the Internet I found the Scott Spark frame at a bargain price, so after a little grovelling to Emma I brought it and transferred everything from the Pace to the Scott.

I love the Scott build I have, it is lighter than the pace and silky smooth over the bumps. Its first real test was dusk till dawn, and with all the undulating terrain it gave me a good chance to dial in the shock, and for once I didn’t get backache during the race! (God, how old am I?) The best part of the Scott suspension is being able to switch between full travel 110mm, 70mm, and lock out with the flick of a lever. I now use this nearly as much as I use my gears!

Paul’s Rating                9/10

  • There is always more shiny bits to buy,
  • Would have given it 10 if I could afford all the nice XTR bits to go with it!
